Our music stage in the food court provides a full programme of entertainment on each day, with toe-toe-tapping music to suit all tastes....grab a bite to eat, down a pint of real ale and be entertained, hopefully in the blazing Crick sunshine!
BILL BAILEY JAZZ BAND
No, not THE Bill Bailey but even more entertaining and much better looking! Back to Crick due to popular demand, Bill and co will bring the soothing sounds of jazz to Crick..........nice!
INNER STATE
A boat with legs? Then it must be street theatre veterans Inner State, appearing as Sir Henry Greatham and Lady Lydia out for a gentle cruise in their steam launch (popular on the inland waterways in the Edwardian era) or their lost Italian friends adrift in their gondola, with their seagull Kevin.
KYREME ARTS
An African Arts organisation based in Northants, Kyreme Arts will be performing on the Food Court stage as well as providing drumming workshops in the kids@crick area. They will bring the excitement and dynamic energy of African drumming and dance to Crick and everyone is welcome to join in! Their performance will include high-energy music and dance depicting the hidden world of African heritage through rhythms, songs, symbols and gestures.
MURPHY’S MARBLES
The Marbles are four musicians and guitars, fiddle, whistle, flute, bass, mandolin, bodhran and harmonica. Their music is Celtic based, a mixture of traditional and contemporary with a cutting edge. They also weave into their act anecdotes and stories which makes for a wonderful performance and definitely a highlight of the show (Sunday)
OCHO RIOS
You’ll be sure to hear the sunshine sounds of the Ocho Rios steel band wafting through the air! Ocho Rios are a young, talented local group who will amaze you with their Caribbean take on popular songs.
ORIGINAL BACKROOM BOYS
The boys are David Broadfield on guitar and vocals and John Owen on violin. They will entertain you with songs and instrumental pieces in a variety of styles including traditional Anglo/Irish folk music, Blue Grass, Blues, Swing, Cajun, Country and Jazz. They have gained a wealth of musical experience over the years and have played extensively throughout the UK and overseas......and Crick.
PETER JAMES – got a request?
Peter is an international keyboard vocalist who is well known in the boating community. Here at Crick it will be up to you which songs are performed as he will be taking requests from the audience! He specialises in the sounds of the sixties, covering artists such as Elvis, Billy Fury, The Tempations and Buddy Holly as well as your favourite country artists. Audience participation is compulsory! (Saturday and Sunday)
TOWPATH TED
The louder-than-life canal character Towpath Ted was created especially for Crick by Alan Myatt, a talented street entertainer of many years standing – and sitting.
