Moorings
Important information for visiting boats
Mooring is suspended from the northern entrance of Crick Marina towards bridge 13 on the towpath side due to a colony of water voles at this site.
Free alternative moorings are provided between bridge 13 and 14 and south of Bridge 11 for visitors to the Boat Show. These are available on a first come, first served basis, and are subject to the normal 14 day restrictions.
As always normal moorings (northern entrance of Crick Marina to bridge 11) are suspended along the towpath at Crick for two weeks either side of the late May bank holiday weekend and are reserved for Show boats.
Please be aware that due to the way in which the Leicester Summit was built, the canal is quite shallow in some areas and it may not always be possible to moor a deep drafted boat close to the canal bank.
Water voles are fully protected under section 9 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (as amended), making it an offence to obstruct access to a place water voles use for shelter, including disturbing them whilst they are using such a place. Mooring alongside water vole burrows is considered as obstruction and disturbance.
Camping
Crick Boat Show operates an on-site camping facility, equipped with toilets and showers. Availability of camping pitches is limited and bookings are allocated on a 'first come' basis. Please call 0871 700 0685 to find out current availability.
